“ This place has such tasty food! Everything my husband and I have tried here has been delicious and the owner is super nice and friendly! Definitely a gem and I'd recommend this spot to anyone interested in some Moroccan food!! ”
“ This is a great place. Good portion. Got the lamb couscous and fill me up. They have amazing tea as well. The owner served us and it was good service. Ambience is very family restaurant. Not really for date but great with big family. Lamb Couscous - the couscous is amazing, very tasty lamb, couple with veggie. Very home-comforting! ”
“ Expanding my taste buds for the first time in Moroccan dishes and am I happy to say this was such an amazing experience. The owner is SO kind and funny, everyone was greeted by him and he literally was the reason why everyone was smiling and in good spirits. You must get the tea, the tea is better than the typical Asian tea imo. Merry had a little lamb, get the lamb. The lamb couscous and shank was by far the best lamb I've had. Lamb vindaloo or roghan josh is its own unique taste, this couscous and veggies is a taste I cannot describe, it's subtle, not salty, not sweet, just lipsmacking and homey. The bastilla was not my favorite, as I don't fancy cinnamon too much, however the chicken was flavorful and almost like a dry rub. ”
“ When we hurried in at closing time on Tuesday night, the host (presumably the owner) told us we were lucky--he had already turned off the grill when we called to see if Fettoosh was still taking orders for take out, and he was just at that moment reaching for the lights. There had been a problem with the phones in the wake of Labor Day, he told us, but he had found a way to call me back nonetheless when I enquired about whether the restaurant was open. The answer was it would stay open for us, if we could come within 15 minutes. And so we picked out a handful of items that leapt out from the menu (SFEHA BI-LAHMI; chicken shawarma wraps, fresh tabouli, Bastilla chicken, and Harira soup) and rushed from the coffeeshop where we had called in Clarendon. Upon arrival, we watched as the food was cooked before our eyes. The host said he could not let us go home hungry, as if he knew the journey we had undertaken to get there without our even mentioning the distance. We had driven over an hour (from Silver Spring) with our car-shy rough collie in the backseat, and on the cusp of 9.30, we were simply famished! We were very lucky indeed, as it turned out. The dishes were delicious, down to the creamy hummus and homemade semolina bread that were mere sides. We are Greek gourmands, and I am a super-taster (my taste-buds detect when there is too much spice, or salt, an ingredient that does not belong e.g. MSG, or spoilage of any kind), and this was simply one of the best restaurants we have encountered on our quest for Mediterranean cuisine in the DMV. There wasn't a sprig of parsley left in our Styrofoam containers when we dug in at the dining table at home--in fact we did not even manage to dish out the meal on real plates--we gobbled it all down so fast! My siblings and I look forward to returning to Fettoosh on our next culinary detour to Northern Virginia. We will make a point to order what we missed out in this first round because of the late hour at which we showed up. We are looking forward to the kabobs, the couscous, and the tangines! ”
“ The owner himself takes orders and helps to bring out food; friendly and super nice. The draw back is on this hot summer day (100F) there's no air con. There's a tiny unit but it barely works. So hot here. I was sweating and my appetite was affected as a consequence. Their chicken bastilla is very unique and delicious; it's like a meat pie with a flaky crispy crust. You can taste the almonds, parsley, and cinnamon; it is slightly sweet. Lamb shank is melting in your mouth level of delicious. Couscous is great. Chicken tangine is great (not served in a traditional tangine pot but on a plate though). ”
“ Freakin phenomenal. If you haven't been, you should. If you have been, you know what's up. Support this place hard y'all! ”
“ Came here for dinner on a Sunday night with my wife after not having been here for years (like 5/6 years). Not sure why but I think we just forgot about this restaurant but we definitely won't forget again. The portion sizes and the taste of everything was absolutely amazing. The Merguez Tagine was just bursting with flavor and each bite left you wanting more. The chicken couscous was gigantic and both the veggies and chicken were cooked to perfection. The broth that came with the couscous was just as delicious on the grains as it was on the bread. The bread was a perfect vehicle for all the sauce. Overall reminded us why we came here so many years ago and we'll definitely be back again sooner rather than later. ”
“ I've always enjoyed Middle Eastern cuisine, so I was excited to discover an authentic Moroccon restaurant - Fetoosh. Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior because it was packed inside. While the food alone is worth 5 stars, the service was also top-notch. Initially, we got the wrong dish but they were quick to respond. We started with a sampling of hot and cold mezze including favorites like hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel and salads. Each plate was freshly prepared For the main course we tried the lamb with prunes. The meat was super tender and full of flavor from the prunes. They have a huge menu with many entree options, so I will definitely be back again! ”
“ The bastilla!! I'd been daydreaming about having bastilla for literally years and Fettoosh did not disappoint! The veggie bastilla was chock full of root veggies, bits of nuts and was just oh so good! Other than that, the service was very friendly and the other food and pricing were quite excellent as well. Only downside is the ambiance. It's a hole in the wall spot that starts feeling very cramped if there's several parties seated. The table next to us was commenting on our food, to give an idea of how cramped it was. Already planning carryout soon! ”
“ YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE! Such a great Moroccan place! It is a requirement to get a bastilla! Truly one of the most unique and tasty dish I have had. I cannot wait to go back and get it again. The falafel was some of the best in the area! I also got chicken that was cooked to perfection. The owner was very hospitable and friendly. ”
